Cooperstown is marketed as “America’s Most Perfect Village,” with an adorable one-stoplight Main Street, and a beautiful lake as its focal point. Otsego Lake is the source of the Susquehanna River, which is more than 400 feet long and empties down in the Chesapeake Bay. With views like the below, we could also call Cooperstown the “most perfect village for portraits.”

Read MoreA visit to Cooperstown, regardless of the reason, is always a good time for family photos. Whether you document your days every three months or once a year…be sure to get all of you in front of the camera.
Read MoreIt’s taken me awhile to get this beautiful family up on the blog. I met them at their house in February — pre-pandemic. Then, of course, everything paused. So my blogging, posting, sessions — all paused. But I love these images, and the calm this family — animals and all — projected, and I’m happy to finally be sharing them.
Read MoreI feel extremely fortunate to have been documenting this family’s milestones since before this little one arrived! And now, they are running around, crashing through blackberry bushes…
Read MoreIt has been nice to interact with people again, even if it is from six feet away and from behind a mask. I met this family during their visit to the Otesaga Resort Hotel, a beautiful historic hotel set on the lake essentially in the middle of Cooperstown.
Read MoreI love meeting families experiencing Cooperstown for the first or second time. I have the opportunity to be a mini tour guide on portrait sessions as we explore some of the beautiful spots downtown together.
Read MoreI’m loving sessions out in the snow, so I’m so glad this family was willing to brave the outdoors! It helps when we hold the session in the backyard, so everyone can run inside and warm up from time to time! :)
Read MoreI love how my Central New York families aren’t afraid to brave the cold for a session. As long as it isn’t raining, we are usually good to go.
Read MoreWe met near Cooperstown for this session full of fall vibes. Filled with butterfly chasing and some exploring, my time with this family of five flew by.

Read MoreIn and around Cooperstown, you really have to try to encounter a bad view. Everywhere you turn, we have rolling hills, greenery, trails, beaches, and more. You really can't go wrong with choosing a location in this area for a portrait session. And some of the perks of this job are being introduced to new scenery, and meeting new families.
Read MoreI thoroughly enjoyed my time with this family. I still can’t believe the energy these boys had -- and after a full day of activities. These kids didn't stop moving the entire session, and they certainly kept me on my toes!
Read MoreI have to say I love photographing families of this size. I had so much fun watching the kids interact with each other and with their parents during this shoot.
Read MoreIf there was one thing I could guarantee about my upcoming family photography session with Kery, it would be to expect an adventure. We had planned a Sunday afternoon session at several locations on her family's property, and the last message I received from her before we were meant to meet was, "Bring your rainboots. :)"
Read MoreCade and his parents joined me on a beautiful fall day at Brookwood Gardens in Cooperstown. We spent some time wandering the paths down toward the lake, with a little game of tag thrown in for good measure -- one of Cade's favorites.
Read MoreThis session took place in two awesome Cooperstown locations. After having to reschedule once due to rain (thank you upstate New York), we met at this stone bridge with perfect weather for a family session commemorating this little on'es recent first birthday.
Read MoreThis morning I had the privilege of hanging out with Mercedes and her awesome family -- in the rain. Mercedes had family members coming into town for a limited amount of time, and 8 a.m. this morning was literally the only time everyone could be together for family photos. We watched the weather forecast all week, and while it waffled a little, the chance of rain never really dipped below 60 percent…
Read MoreI’ve always found the history of this holiday interesting. A woman named Anna Jarvis worked for almost 10 years to have the holiday nationally recognized. Six years later she had become appalled by how commercialized it had become and had even lobbied to have it removed from the calendar...
