An Adventure in Burlington Flats
If there was one thing I could guarantee about my upcoming family photography session with Kery, it would be to expect an adventure. We had planned a Sunday afternoon session at several locations on her family's property, and the last message I received from her before we were to meet was, "Bring your rainboots. :)"
I thought it was strange because it really hasn't rained in the Cooperstown area recently. I couldn't figure out what mud she planned to have us all traipsing through. But, sure! I packed my rain boots.
It turns out there is an adorable bridge on the property, but the creek takes a bend and in order to capture the group on it I would have to be standing in the creek.
"The water's not too deep," she promised.
It wasn't, but I discovered my rain boots had several holes in them from folding and packing them into suitcases for the past few years. The water came rushing right into them, but at least I had a good grip on the creek bed!
After I changed my socks, we explored more of the property and stopped at a cute fall-themed set-up she had arranged. I've included a few images from our afternoon below.
